Paris Street Art
These are some photos I took during the Spring of 2008, when I was living in Paris. There was one amazingly talented artist, Monsieur Qui, who papered almost every arrondissement. His pieces are the ones that are drawn paper appliques. The women drawing were beautiful.
But there were also quite a few other fun ones - mostly based on the placements things and the resulting context. Anyway, hope...

some new loves...
As I wrote earlier, I’ve been crazy busy with work and finally had some time to catch my breath today….which ultimately leads to my pinning and stumbling across the world wide web of fashion and swooning over divine finds.
One of my favorite haunts has some amazing pieces exclusive to their site….Net-a-porter.com
For example, look at this Donna Karen WOOL gown. So cool and yet,...
Finally have a second to catch my breathe
This has been a crazy busy week. It was social media week all over the world and DC was very much involved. Which is still kinda crazy to me.
Before I left for Europe I 2008, things were not social - online at least. But my have things changed. DC is a top tech city now and there are dozens of social media labs around town.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun but kinda crazy as it was a highly...
New York Fashion Week: Christian Siriano
Love love love
dailycandy:
The Concept: Vintage film noir with a rough-and-tumble edge. The Palette: Cream, black, wine, and metallics. Standouts: Wispy frocks paired with leather motorcycle jackets; slinky dresses with dramatic bat wings; see-through blouses flecked with gold. A tulle-topped mermaid gown brought on applause. T & L: My Monthly Escape
This months Travel & Leisure came today and it’s my favorite escape. For just a few bucks a year, I get to explore and escape to some of the most stunning and exotic locales.
I get so inspired by the stories of living in villas and stolling through manicured gardens, that it’s all I can do to not jump on Kayak and book a flight somewhere.
Life is more complicated now.
I...

Jewelry is how I curate my life.
I ordered these earrings from my friend Suzanne Somersall, who is one of the most talented jewelry designers out there. Her pieces are classic, timeless and wholly unique.
it took me a long time to figure out what piece to treat myself to - I truly felt like a kid in a candy shop. That is how I feel about jewelry. I can tell you when and where I got every piece.
Each piece has it’s own...

DailyCandy: New York Fashion Week: Lauren Moffatt →
dailycandy:
Today at the School for Wayward Girls in Nolita, headmistress Lauren Moffatt caught us passing notes. Our (not-terrible-at-all) punishment: writing lines to describe the designer’s fall 2012 schoolgirl-themed collection.
We will wear geometric patterns spiced with cutouts and sequins. We…

Shoes Are Loyal
There are few things in life that bring me as much joy as shoes.
There is something about shoes and women that is simply hard-wired within us to swoon over a beautifully shaped slipper or a sky-high stilletto.
Oprah once said something to the effect of, “No matter what size you wear, your shoes will always be there, like a good friend.”
And it’s true. Your skinny jeans will...

Today's Love: A Staple Remover
No, not the regular office kind. Rather, the medical staple remover.
Today, I had the 7 staples put in my back exactly two week sago today, removed. And thank god they are gone.
My recovery has really been great, but towards the end the staples became more and more uncomfortable. They were getting snagged on things. The heat of my heating pad would cause excessive heating INSIDE me. And...

Sexy Bones
Leave it to Alexander McQueen to make bones sexy. This dress’ delicate lace skeletal weave let’s you be edgy, a touch goth and super-sexy.
Them bones never looked so good.
Net-a-porter.

a garden of dreams
It’s Friday night. And as a mother of a toddler (and someone who’s recovering from back surgery), Friday nights are a lot more subdued than in years past. Gone are the days when at 9:42 I would be just getting ready to go out, as opposed to being on my computer, in bed already.
But times change and frankly, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. My days and nights are filled with...

you can karlify yourself in real life
This is so ridiculous, that I love it: Karl Lagerfeld is was selling his notorious collar on net-a-porter for $95….and it’s already sold out!
I don’t know if I love it because it’ so krazy, or what….I can’t imagine actually wearing it, though.

Shoes From Your Printer!?
CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the premiere conference/showcase for all consumer electronics. It’s held each year in Las Vegas and it’s where the coolest prototypes are rolled out for geeks like me to drool over.
This year was all about tablets and mac book air knock offs…and these shoes which were PRINTED FROM A 3D PRINTER!
OMG. Can you imagine all the cool things that can...

Paris In Bloom
Elie Saab’s Spring 2012 Couture collection encapsulated Paris in the spring time.
It’s light, feminine and in full-bloom and reminds me of when I spent some time in Paris.
Used to walk for hours, just wandering and exploring the City of Lights. I fancied myself an amateur photog. Anyway, one overcast day I was passing through the Jardins du Luxembourg, and was caught by these...

Chanel Makes Me Want To Fly The Friendly Skies
I LOVE Chanel’s explosion of blue for their Spring 2012 couture collection. It makes me think of a time when flying was exciting and glamorous. Very Pan Am. And yet, still very Chanel.
So many spring collections this year are saturated with variations of the color vert, that this collection seems all the more exciting.
What else do I love? The heavy use of the portrait collar and...

Givenchy: did your mother not hug you enough as a...
This is not a love post.
This is downright terrifying.
Something has gone terribly wrong at Givenchy. Does anyone have any thoughts? Or can someone explain this to me?
I am baffled by the nightmare-inducing mouth-ware. I don’t know what it is. I just know that it scares me.
